Pt. 1
In 2020: Companies laid off 60M workers, and we said jobs are not loyal.
In 2021: There were 3.2M+ Tech Job Openings, The Great Migration into Tech aka The Great Migration.
In 2022: We are advocating job-hopping to make more money.
Currently: Over 21,000 people have been laid off within the Tech Industry and yes it's during a Recession.
So have we not learned anything?
Yes, we have learned a lot during these past years. However, the rate of mass layoff is alarming. I'm not kidding -- I know someone who was hired at coin-base in May and announced being laid off this month. 😩 I'm at a point where I am numb to all the mass layoff posts I see on LinkedIn. Yes, They will go viral; however, virality and commenting for reach will not pay your bills. It certainly is not a guarantee that you will get a new job either. Why? Because you need a recruiter to review your resume or LinkedIn profile to see if you are a good fit.
Ensuring you have a strategic job search is crucial too.
Quick Tip:
Apply for jobs in the federal government sector. It is less competitive, and there are many 6-Figure opportunities and roles. The federal government is the most secure employment sector. My first role was over $100K and I loved every bit of my time there.
Here is an example of what you may find in a Federal Resume 👇
